Ella is a fourth generation resident of the Langford/Jerseyville area. She grew up on a family farm in Langford. She has been actively engaged in a number of community issues and concerns in Ward 5 ranging from stopping the proposed construction of a highway interchange on her parents’ farm, to helping communities in Brant, Wellington County/Guelph, Dunnville and Fort Saskatchewan, AB to address industrial pollution, protect farmland and reduce waste that enters the landfill. Ella is a founding member of the Langford Conservancy which cares for the Langford Schoolhouse as a rural community hub, with a special focus on outreach to seniors. Through Lynden Friends of Migrant Farm Workers, she works to foster an inclusive, rural community with special outreach to migrant farm workers. Ella has been a consistent advocate of promoting smart growth with affordable housing, protected greenspaces and local environmentally sustainable jobs. As a dedicated member of the community, Ella has shown her ability to get things done.
